After years of Doi Moi (Reforms), Viet Nam has recorded great achievements of historic significance and witnessed a robust and comprehensive development with fairly high level economic growth, socio-political stability, improved people’s living standard, secured national defense and security, expanded external relations. Despite challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the world environment, the country has scored positive growth, demonstrating its attractiveness of business and investment. In the first half this year, Viet Nam’s GDP growth rate is 6.42% and FDI reaches over 10 billion USD, up 8.9% over the same period last year. It is forecasted by the World Bank that Viet Nam’s GDP can expand 7.5% in the year 2022 and 6.7% in 2023, with resilient manufacturing and a robust rebound in services serving as the driving forces for economic recovery. Viet Nam is very well integrated into the global economy with 15 FTAs (including large trade blocs such as ASEAN, EU, CPTPP and RCEP). With 99 million habitants and a growing middle class, Viet Nam's market is increasingly attractive to Canadian companies and can serve as a platform to expand to the ASEAN region. This must-attend event is an excellent opportunity for Canadian companies to explore new business destinations and new promising sectors in Vietnam. At the event, Canadian companies will be able to discuss directly trade and investment issues with eminent economists from Vietnam.
