Our business group has been active in promoting trade and investment between Canada and Vietnam since 2007. Our Trade Council is federally incorporated and was formally inaugurated in September 2010. We currently have three Directors:
1. Elizabeth McIninch
Ms. McIninch is President of Moody’s International Business Consultants (Canada) Ltd. She has been active in international business for several years. She served as Executive Director of Vietnam-Canada: Friendship Beyond Borders published in 2007 and 2013 by the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada. Ms. McIninch has also edited several economic policy books for the Embassy of Indonesia.
2. Julie Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Economics from Concordia University, a Master’s in Economics and a Ph.D. (2004) in Interdisciplinary Studies and Asian Research both from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She was a consultant for the United Nations in Hanoi in 1997 and a research associate at the Centre for Southeast Asia Research at UBC. Dr. Nguyen conducted her post-doctoral research at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto (U of T), and taught courses in Political Science and Asia-Pacific Studies at U of T. She is currently a professor and program coordinator of international business at Centennial College, and a board member of the Organization of Women in International Trade – Toronto.
3. Femi Oloruntoba
Femi is a seasoned business development and strategic marketing leader with over 10-year experience delivering revenue growth and customer experiences through customer engagement, strategy development, and execution, new and reoccurring sales generation within the medical device, software, wholesale, construction sectors with high energy, analytics, and pragmatism. He is a co-founder and Chief Growth Officer at Esta Link Inc. Femi holds a Bachelor’s (Hons) in Chemistry, a Graduate Certificate in International Business Management from Centennial College (2011), and an Executive MBA from Cornell University and Queen’s University (2018) with a focus on international business, growth strategy and the re-engineering of a global enterprise.
